Lewis sophomore Chantel Stennis became the first Flyer in 11 years to win two All-American awards at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Women’s Track and Field Championships at Grand Valley State in Michigan.

The Bolingbrook graduate took fifth in the 400-meter dash in 53.97 seconds and sixth in the 200 in 24.10. Her time in the 400 broke her own school record.

“Chantel had a coming- out party at the meet,” Lewis coach Dana Schwarting said. “Coming off the 400-meter dash, we didn’t know how much she had left in her legs (for the 200). But she really dug deep and was able to come away as a double All-American.”

Junior Rebecca Priesler, a Romeoville product, and senior Megan Marchildon also earned All-American status. Priesler cleared 12 feet, 5.5 inches to take eighth in the pole vault and Marchildon was clocked in 2 minutes, 22.47 seconds to take fifth in the heptathlon.

Lewis’ Jean-Paul, McClain
earn All-American

Lewis juniors Isaac Jean-Paul and Andrew McClain earned All-American status based on their performances at the NCAA Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Grand Valley State in Michigan.

Paul became the first Flyer in nine seasons to take home both indoor and outdoor All-America honors by taking seventh in the high jump (6-8.75).

McClain saved his best for last, posting a career-best time of 14:04.85 in the 5,000 meters to finish sixth.

Cougars’ Bahnick all-Region

St. Xavier junior golfer Kyle Bahnick was named to the North Region squad of the NAIA PING All-Region Team. Bahnick tied for the individual title, leading the Cougars to the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship and an automatic berth to the NAIA Men’s Golf National Championships in just the program’s second season of competition.

Cougars’ Shares an All-American

St. Xavier senior Ashley Shares turned in a time of 3:10:15.10 to finish third in the marathon during the final day of competition at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The Stagg graduate became the school’s first All-American since 2011.

Thompson 42nd
at national meet

Just missing the cut for the fourth and final round by a single stroke, St. Xavier freshman Taylor Thompson finished 42nd at the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships in Lincoln, Nebraska. Her three-day total was 238 (83-76-79) at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club.

Saints net three All-Americans

St. Francis came away with three All-American awards at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Honored were senior Chelsea Rimington, who took third in the shot put (47-4.5), and seniors Dylan Reyes and Mike Blaszczyk in the 10,000 meters. Reyes was the runner-up, finishing in 30:45.41, while Blaszczyk finished sixth in 31:11.02.
