Baseball: Slammers lose twice to Normal Cornbelters

Normal 11-3, Slammers 3-2

Recap: Joliet rallied from a 2-0 deficit, but lost in the bottom of the eighth of the scheduled seven-inning nightcap as host Normal completed a sweep Tuesday night. The Slammers fell behind 6-0 after three innings and couldn’t recover in the seven-inning opener. Grant DeBruin and Adam Giacalone each went 2-for-3 with a homer for the Slammers in Game 1, and starter Travis Bradshaw (0-1) was the loser, allowing six runs (five earned) in 22/3 innings. Brett Zawacki (3-2) lost the nightcap in relief.

Slammers record: 17-28
