Mount Carmel Invitational: Providence (285) posted the best score in school history en route to the championship at Lincoln Oaks. Ricky Costello led the Celtics with a 3-under 68, which enabled him to capture medalist honors by strokes over teammate Mickey Brick. Fenwick’s Jack Mortell and St. Laurence’s Jordan Velez also carded 70s. Loyola (294), Young (302), Fenwick (304) and Homewood-Flossmoor (305) rounded out the top five in the 17-team field.
AIB College of Business 1, St. Francis 0: Carlan Samuelson’s goal in the 52nd minute guided host AIB College of Business in the season opener for both squads. Bethany Dombkowski made seven saves for St. Francis.
