Beecher 3, Crete-Monee 2: Bailey Schultz posted one goal and one assist to guide visiting Beecher (2-0). Garrett Short and Tanner Amsden also scored for the Bobcats. Fernando Aguirre had both goals for Crete-Monee (1-1).
Illinois Lutheran 7, Rich South 0: Justin Schmidtke’s four goals sparked host Illinois Lutheran (2-0).

Joliet Catholic 2, Parker 1: Jared Olson put in both goals for Joliet Catholic (1-1) in its first contest of the day at Earlville. Ryan Lees and Ben Gabor racked up assists for the Hilltoppers, who then lost 3-0 to Herscher in the evening session.
Queen of Peace 25-25, Reavis 17-18: Colleen Corbett dished out 16 assists and Kam Myles had 10 kills to guide visiting Queen of Peace (2-0).
De La Salle 25-25, Oak Lawn 18-14: Mary Kate Byrnes totaled nine kills and 12 digs to spark visiting De La Salle (1-0). Natalie Arredia added 16 assists for the Meteors.
Shepard 25-16-25, Lincoln-Way Central 19-25-23: Caroline Graham distributed 30 assists and Kendall Yerkes tacked on 13 kills to power host Shepard (2-0). Candace Finnin racked up 11 kills and 18 blocks for Lincoln-Way Central (0-2), which also received 25 assists and eight blocks from Mariel Leibovitz.
Wheaton North Invitational: Alyssa Kolecki totaled 15 assists to pace Oak Forest (0-3), which fell to Montini 25-16, 25-19 and Naperville North 25-17, 21-25, 25-14 in pool play. Alex Lambros aided the cause for the Bengals with eight kills. Andrew (2-1) split its two matches, topping Larkin 25-16, 25-18 and losing to Glenbard West 25-13, 25-13.
Chicago Christian 160, Marist 170: Medalist Sean Ozinga shot a 2-over 37 to lead Chicago Christian at Silver Lake North. Trevor Fox paced Marist with a 40.
St. Rita 166, St. Laurence 185: St. Rita’s Pat Fitzgerald carded a 37 to garner medalist honors in the Catholic League dual at Stony Creek.
Eisenhower 183, Rich East 243: Caleb Warner, of Rich East, turned in a meet-best 38 at The Meadows. Vinny Curta (44) and Derek Mundo (45) were the top contributors for Eisenhower.
Illiana Christian 159, Riverside-Brookfield 187: Illiana Christian’s Steven Massey was the medalist after registering a 1-over 36 at Palmira in St. John, Indiana. Matthew Zandstra added a 38 for the Vikings in the Metro Suburban meet.
Andrew 155, Richards 165: Andrew Zemke, of Richards, had a 37 in leading all golfers at Stony Creek.
Beecher triangular: Michael Barber (39) finished atop the field in directing Beecher (164) past Grant Park (204) and Crete-Monee (219) at Cardinal Creek. Jarod Stolzenbach chipped in a 41 for the Bobcats.
Tinley Park quadrangular: Medalist Nick Kuras had a 39 in propelling Oak Forest (169) to a first-place showing at The Sanctuary. Andrew Hall chalked up a team-best 41 for runner-up Tinley Park (188), which was followed by Bremen (215) and Hillcrest (269) in the South Suburban meet.
Providence 179, Marian Catholic 226: Medalist Alyssa Gromala shot a 2-over 36 to boost Providence in the East Suburban Catholic dual at Woodruff in Joliet. Mira Nicpon (42) led the way for Marian Catholic.
Lincoln-Way East 187, Stagg 209: Lincoln-Way East’s Kelly Sterling notched a 1-over 37 in earning medalist honors at Green Garden’s Blue Course. Haleigh Biernacki (46) compiled the lowest score for Stagg in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.
Lockport 183, Marist 194: Melanie Loeffler, of Lockport, was the medalist by virtue of her 39 at Broken Arrow. Kayla Garritson (43) also contributed for the Porters. Sam Smith (45) had the best round for Marist.
Sandburg 159, Lincoln-Way West 194: Sandburg’s Frankie Saban (35) was the standout individual in the SouthWest Suburban crossover at The Sanctuary.
Lincoln-Way North 202, Oak Forest 258: Hannah Hill, of Lincoln-Way North, fired a 49 to win medalist honors at Ravisloe.
Girls Cross Country
Morris Invitational: Chicago Christian (106 points) finished third behind Seneca (68) and LaSalle-Peru (80) among the 11 scoring teams. The Knights were led by Bre Kooiman (20 minutes, 39.4 seconds) and Cassidy VandeKamp (20:44.2), who were seventh and eight, respectively, in the 2.97-mile race. Daly Galloway (18:33.1), of Gardner-South Wilmington, was the top runner.
Calumet Fall Preview: Lane Barbier shot a 76 as St. Francis (308) held first place after the opening round at White Hawk Country Club in Crown Point. Josh Gass and Daniel Frantz added 77s for the Saints, whose closest pursuer in the five-team field was Purdue-Calumet (324).
Indiana Tech 5, Trinity Christian 2: Mauricio Salgado netted both goals for Trinity Christian (1-1) in its home opener.
Trinity Christian 4, Indiana Tech 1: Rachel Webb’s hat trick ignited host Trinity Christian (1-1). Kayla Diemer added two assists for the Trolls.
Clarke 22-27-25-25-18, St. Xavier 25-25-27-21-16: Kelli Shaffer (14 digs) notched 53 assists Meghan Falsey (10 digs) drilled 19 kills to set the tone for St. Xavier (1-2) in Dubuque, Iowa. Heidi Gregerson added 15 kills for the Cougars and Dominique Aramburu had 21 digs.
