Boys Soccer

Stagg 1, Young 0: Tom Kulak’s goal with four minutes remaining lifted host Stagg (1-0-1). Daniel Ciezobka made six saves in recording the shutout.

Oak Forest 3, Evergreen Park 0: Goals by Patrick Cooke and Pablo Flores were among the goal scorers for host Oak Forest (1-0, 1-0) in the South Suburban crossover.

River Valley/Southland Challenge

Illinois Lutheran 11, Rich East 0: Justin Schmidtke totaled five goals and an assist to steer host Illinois Lutheran (3-0).

Beecher 11, Rich Central 0: Bailey Schultz scored three times to vault Beecher (3-0) in the second match at Illinois Lutheran. Jackson Strick and Brandon Meltz chipped in two goals each for the Bobcats.

Grant Park 3, Crete-Monee 2: Kaleb Lehnert scored the winner on a penalty kick to boost visiting Grant Park (3-0). Crete-Monee fell to 1-2.

War on 34 Tournament

Joliet Catholic 2, Roanoke-Benson 0: Ryan Lees and Aron Goeken chalked up goals for Joliet Catholic (2-1) in the quarterfinal at Earlville.

Windy City Ram Classic

Argo 3, Providence 0: Matt Sulamc netted two goals to vault host Argo (2-0) into the quarterfinal round.

Lincoln-Way North 2, Marist 0: David Leyden and Jake Mitchell scored for visiting Lincoln-Way North (2-0).

Kennedy 3, Marian Catholic 2 (SO): Alec Guarino put in both goals for host Marian Catholic (2-1), which was outscored 3-2 in the penalty-kick shootout.

Bremen 8, Carver 2: Ricardo Avalos netted a hat trick to spur Bremen (1-1) in the consolation bracket at Argo.

Homewood-Flossmoor 3, De La Salle 0: Jonathan Brandt had all three goals for host Homewood-Flossmoor (1-1).

Oak Lawn 2, St. Rita 1: Michal Szaflarski and Francisco Sanchez were the goal scorers for visiting Oak Lawn (1-1).

Girls Volleyball

Marist 25-25, Hinsdale South 20-20: Lizzie Zaleski (5 kills) had 24 assists and Cameron Enright added 12 kills to power host Marist in its season opener.

Bremen 25-25, Hillcrest 18-14: Taylor Knispel dished out 12 assists to spark host Bremen (1-0, 1-0) in the South Suburban Blue.

Beecher 25-20-25, Morgan Park Academy 12-25-20: Savanah Stluka notched 12 assists, 10 digs and four blocks to propel visiting Beecher (1-0). Danielle Snuckel tacked on eight kills and 10 digs for the Bobcats.

Reavis 25-25, Argo 10-18: Marisol Arredondo compiled 13 assists and five aces to ignite host Reavis (1-2, 1-0) in the South Suburban Red.

Lemont 25-25, Oak Forest 22-21: Ali Lund and Olivia Whittingham put up nine and eight kills, respectively, to boost host Lemont (1-0, 1-0) in the South Suburban Blue. Alex Lambros led Oak Forest (0-4, 0-1) with six kills, four blocks and three aces. Alyssa Kolecki tacked on eight assists for the Bengals.

Illiana Christian 28-25, Ridgewood 26-11: Sydnee Van Beek had six kills to steer visiting Illiana Christian (1-0, 1-0) in the Metro Suburban East.

Boys Golf

Sandburg 149, Lincoln-Way North 167: Medalist Austin Wojtczak shot an even-par 35 to lead Sandburg in the SouthWest Suburban crossover at Silver Lake. Mitchell Wasso (39) turned in the top score for Lincoln-Way North.

Lincoln-Way East 159, Stagg 172: Jim Goich, of Lincoln-Way East, carded a 37 to pace the field in the SouthWest Suburban crossover at Palos Municipal Golf Course.

Eisenhower 179, Bremen 222: Eisenhower’s Vinny Curta (36) was the medalist in the South Suburban crossover at The Meadows.

Southland Prep 194, Grant Park 233: Michael Gettings shot a team-best 52 for Southland Prep.

Providence triangular: Ricky Costello topped all competitors with a 2-under 34 as Providence (153) bested Fenwick (165) and St. Laurence (176) in the Catholic League meet at Mistwood in Romeoville.

Girls Golf

Mother McAuley 207, Regina 235: Regina’s Claire Radler and Mother McAuley’s Casey Hogan were co-medalists with rounds of 48 in the GCAC dual at The Meadows.

Oak Park-River Forest 177, Marist 186: Elaine Houha, of Oak Park-River Forest, finished with a 42 to secure medalist accolades at The Meadows.

Beecher triangular: Jessie Ackman (45) captured medalist honors in leading Beecher (212) to a second-place finish behind Bradley (209). Grant Park (232) was a distant third at Cardinal Creek.

Girls Tennis

Lemont 4, Argo 1: C.J. Hunter and Melissa Smith prevailed at No. 1 doubles for visiting Lemont in the South Suburban crossover.

Joliet Catholic 3, Providence 2: Maddie Bauer and McCoy Hutchison registered a win at top-seeded doubles to lift host Joliet Catholic. Hannah Davis contributed a victory at No. 1 singles for Providence in the East Suburban Catholic.

Oak Forest 5, Eisenhower 0: Singles wins from Olivia VanOverbeke (No. 1) and Maya Maslovska (No. 2) elevated visiting Oak Forest (2-0). Lizzie Samoska and Laura Neupauerova added a victory at No. 2 doubles for the Bengals in the South Suburban crossover.

Shepard 5, Hillcrest 0: Nancy Lesnicki’s win at No. 1 singles aided host Shepard in the South Suburban crossover.

Girls Swimming & Diving

Homewood-Flossmoor 108, Lincoln-Way Central 75: Susanna Reese posted the top times in the 50-yard freestyle (25.46 seconds) and 100 freestyle (57.57) to lead visiting Homewood-Flossmoor in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Lincoln-Way Central was paced by Kim Bernhard, who finished first in the 100 backstroke (1 minute, 4.51 seconds) and 200 free (2:01.63).

Men’s Golf

Calumet Fall Preview: St. Francis (629) rolled past runner-up Purdue-Calumet to win the two-day event at White Hawk Country Club in Crown Point. The champion Saints were led by Daniel Frantz (78), who finished second after posting a 36-hole score of 155, one shot better than teammate Lane Barbier. Calumet (669) and Robert Morris (697) took third and fourth, respectively, in the five-team tournament.

Women’s Soccer

St. Francis 7, Lindenwood-Belleville 1: Leslie Rueda scored twice and Liceth Robles added a pair of assists to steer host St. Francis (1-1).
