Jovone Shorter, a 6-foot-2, senior guard for Richards High School, leads the Bulldogs in scoring, averaging 17 points per game. The Calumet Park resident is intent on leading the Bulldogs to a successful season.
State title game. You’re in it. What team would you most like to beat for the championship? Why?
Simeon. They’re No. 1 in the nation. They’re the best, and it would be special to beat the best.
You’re on a deserted island. You could have an endless supply of one food. What would it be?
A gyros pizza puff from Seven Seas.
What do you do better than anybody?
How hard I work. I don’t take my talent for granted. I still work hard.
Ten years from now, when you’re talking about coach John Chappetto, what’s the first thing that will come to mind?
How he’s never satisfied. Even at our best, he thinks we can do better.
If you could have your pick, what celebrity would you choose as your prom date?
Alicia Keys.

D-Wade. He is Richards. He’s paved the way for all of Richards.
When you hear the name Michael Jordan, what first comes to mind?
The greatest player ever.
If you could be a pro athlete in any sport other than basketball, what sport would it be and why?
Football. I think I could be a good wide out.

A white Porsche Panamera.

Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City Thunder). I like his game.
